About Me
Art is my passion.
I have always sculpted, drawn and painted. My work has evolved, reverted upon itself and is forever changing. It now reflects my optimism about life.
I grew up in Jerusalem and NY is my home. I paint le plein air landscapes independently, while studying figure painting at the Art Students League. My teachers included Philip Pearlstein, Barney Hodes, Phil Sherrod, and Knox Martin.
At times I use previously painted water colors of New York City, Jerusalem, Safed, and the Dead Sea in Israel as the basis for creating large collages and paintings. My unique approach combines color harmony with a celebration of pattern making. My experimentation with water colors, new media and collage construction uses discarded personal materials to create exciting new life on canvas. When I paint the female figure and everyday objects, I aspire to illuminate the fragility of humanity and our longing for a better world.
